Everyone is welcome at Whaley 🐳

Every safe swim at Whale Beach begins with a volun Every safe swim at Whale Beach begins with a volunteer — but right now, we need your help more than ever.
Patrol numbers have dropped from 200+ to under 150 since COVID, and we’re at risk of not meeting our safety commitments. That’s why this EOFY, we’re launching a donation drive to support a $100,000 three-year plan to recruit, train, and retain volunteer lifesavers. 
The club has already committed $50,000 — and we’re aiming to raise the rest, with the first $10,000 matched dollar-for-dollar! 
Help us keep the red and yellow strong. Donate today — every dollar makes a difference.
Save the Date — Our Annual General Meeting will Save the Date — Our Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday 10 August 2025 at 2pm.

IRB Training at Palm Beach SLSC We’re running IR IRB Training at Palm Beach SLSC
We’re running IRB crew and driver training, starting with a mandatory induction on Sunday 6 July at 8am.
Training sessions will be held on Saturday and Sunday mornings over several weeks, with assessment in September.
EOIs are open now and close Friday 7 June – spots are limited and submitting an EOI does not guarantee a place.
You can also express interest in other upcoming training opportunities using the same form.

This National Volunteers Week (19–25 May 2025), This National Volunteers Week (19–25 May 2025), we proudly celebrate the heart and soul of Whale Beach SLSC — our volunteers.
From patrolling the beach and keeping swimmers safe, to training the next generation of lifesavers and supporting community events, our volunteers give their time, skills, and energy without ever asking for anything in return.
Their dedication and spirit are what keep our beaches safe and our club strong. Every smiling face, every early morning, every act of service — it all makes a difference.

SLSNSW is excited to launch the Lifesaving Skills SLSNSW is excited to launch the Lifesaving Skills Development Program pilot this June. Open to Bronze Medallion Training Officers with additional lifesaving awards, this free one- or two-day program will help build your skills, leadership, and passion through practical, scenario-based training on the beach and in the surf.
What you’ll gain:
Enhanced rescue techniques and first aid skills
Greater awareness of lifesaving pathways
Leadership experience in operational environments
Renewed motivation for surf lifesaving
Locations and Dates:
South Maroubra SLSC – 7 June (1 Day)
Palm Beach SLSC – 21 & 22 June (2 Days)
Open to members aged 15+ or 18+ (depending on the program). Gear, lunch, and accommodation (for 2-day program) provided.

As Competition Secretary, Harry has done a phenomenal job organising numerous club events this season—particularly this month with a packed calendar that included Club Championships, the Midget Farrelly Memorial Surf Competition, and the highly anticipated Palm Beach vs Whale Beach showdown. Each event was run smoothly and professionally, with Harry’s signature enthusiasm and attention to detail. His friendliness and encouragement have made competition at Whale a welcoming and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
